On Hold
Sorry everyone, I am going to be out for a few days. My Grandmother (who raised me) has been given 24 to 48 hours to live. I have not been back to the midwest for 20 years and am flying out tomorrow to meet the hundreds of sets of eyes whom I ran away from to say goodbye to her.
This will not be fun.
I hope to be back by Monday.

Just stare right back at them all and be proud. Proud that you are making a tough trip to say goodbye to someone you love. Your grandmother will be blessed to have you there at her side.

I think you will be surprised how much less...ferocious your past can be with sufficient time and distance. I hope you feel good about yourself when you leave there to return to your home, because as trite as it sounds, (and is), home really is where the heart is.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I had a similar relationship with my grandma, and I lost her this past New Year's Eve. As sad as it was, I know that she is with me every day, and I talk to her all of the time:)
